How to straighten your hair?

I was wondering how i would straighten my hair the safest way possible, tips for not burning my head, etc.

And also, would dying my hair mess up the texture of it, and i heard if you dye it too much your hair drys up.. is this true? if so how many times would i be able to dye it before my hair drys out

If you've never died it before you'll be okay. but if you have died it recently or alot in the past 6 months then I wouldn't recommend dying it. You can straighten it with a straighting Iron to avoid burning your scalp, the fat wide ones work best. I have had no luck with relaxers, I still had to straighten it after I washed it. Use plenty of conditioner, you cant use too much.

Curly hair is flat and porous like a ribbon, that's why it curls, and why it doesn't do good dyed because it goes straight through the hair instead of coating it with the color, keeping the natural texture in. Straight hair is round like speghetti, thus laying flat and beautifully straight.

The one thing curly hair has on straight is the volume we can get without the hairspray, put mousse in your hair, finger comb it or comb with a wide toothed comb while its wet, pull back in an extremely low, tight pony tail and let in dry. Part it owerver you want, zig-zag, or natural or to the side.

when dry use fingers to seperate into small sections, one on each side of part, hold back loose hair loosely with scrunchees. Straighten eact section working your way up to the part. (Fine tune with small straightner for pony tail lines and strays, can use small curling iron on small random pieces through out hair, curl until you can feel the heat through hair)

Ladies with naturally curly hair!! DO NOT Shampoo your hair everyday! Use conditioner like its going out of style.

Well you straighten your hair very carefully lol, go here http://homebeautytips.blogspot.com/2007/...

I use the CHI its absolutely amazing. It gets my hair pin straight, but I dont straighten my hair anymore because it ruined my hair. I like my hair naturally, because its wavy. Any hair product that has heat is going to break your hair, I get really easy split ends now from straightening it so much, which is why i dont anymore. and same thing as dying, YES, it drys out your hair, I've been dying my hair since I was 11 yrs old, and im 14 now, so I've been a lot of things with my hair for like ever. It doesn't matter how many times you dye it, dye is dye, and it has chemicals in it, when I dye my hair I either go to a professional or get the hair dye from Sally's Beauty Supplie store. They have very good hair dye, and you get better color results, I dont use the box dyes, their crappy. If your so worried about frying your hair, than try not to flat iron it so much, and only dye it when needed, if you dye it one color, and you see your roots are growing in, only dye your roots, not your whole head. You can use products to protect your hair from heat, and you can deep condition it, so it wont get so damaged from hair dye chemicals. Such as this, it helps from heat:

I have it :), well use that if you blow dry or flat iron your hair. %26amp; make sure you get a hair trim when needed, every 3-4 months, some people like me should get atleast every 4-6 weeks, but everyones hair is different! good luck babygirl!

You can straighten your hair with one of the really big barrel round brushes or a big paddle brush and a hair dryer. Do it on damp hair section by section until your hair is completely dry and straight. Make sure you keep the hair dryer pointed down toward your hair to minimize frizziness. You shouldn't need a flat iron unless your hair is very curly, and if it is you will want to blow dry first then go over it with the flat iron. Don't press too hard down on the flat iron it will make lines in your hair that you won't be able to iron out.

Oh and as for dyeing your hair if you find a color you like you do not have to keep doing your whole head in that color, only the roots and this will not cause very much damage at all. The lighter colors do more damage to your hair than the darker colors.
