I wanna straighten my hair....?

i have very thin hair and wavy hair... it touches my shoulder...i wanna straighten it .......does it have any side effect? is it harmful for hair?? plz advice me

I straighten my hair everyday and it still looks just as healthy as it did before I started straightening it. Don't listen to people who say its bad for you hair you just have to make sure you do it right.

1.Make sure have a good high quality staightener.(mines revlon)

2. ALWAYS use a ceramic straightener. NEVER any other type. It breaks you hair off and makes it's rough and brittle.

3. Use some kind of protectant. I use beyond zone pro formule"turn up the heat" it's about 8$ at Sally's beauty store and pretty much any other beauty store. If you don't use some kind of protectant your hair will eventually get brittle and break off at the ends.

4. Make sure your hair is completely dry before you straighten it, doing otherwise will burn your hair.

Like I said before, theres nothing wrong with straightening it, as long as you do it right.

it is harmful; but only if you do it constantly everyday.

i'd advise you to get a special cream that protects your hair, it will straighten your hair and keep it healthy!

sometimes it gets frizzy, so i'd advise you to get anti frizz gel as well. :]

The more expensive straighteners dont do much damage .. and theres all kinds of products to put on to protect it before u straighten it..

yes it harmful so don't do it too often. Straightners can fry your hair it will get dry and break off. Use a ceramic straightner and try Tresseme Spray for heat styling. it's supposed to protect the hair.

if its the first time your doing it then the ONLY thing that will happen is frizz. you need product to take care of some of that. after you start doing it for a while THEN it starts affecting your hair if you dont take care of it properly

a lot of my friends have hair like yours and they straighten their hair all the time..you just shouldn't put it on a high temperature and i think it will be fine..you could always just go and ask a hair salon

Well, I've already have my hair straightened twice. The first time it looked great, but the second time it failed me. Straightening hair is of course not good for your hair, particularly if you use bad kind of straightening chemicals. If you really want to have your hair straightened, go to a reliable hairdresser's, and remember to use conditioner each time you wash your hair. U should also use hair mask at least once every two weeks. Hope ur hair will look better! ^_^

Buy a hair straightener with ceramic plates.. The brand 'GHD' is VERY good as it is safe,easy, heats up quickly and the results are amazing.a bit pricey.Its ok i think, nothing that bad can happen.. it may damage your hair if you use it too frequently.. but just use special treatments etc. and you will be ok

Yes it could be very harmful to your hair if you aren't gonna be using a product to protect your hair from the heat. Also you need a very good straightener i personally recommend a ceramic one from HAI. But yeah just make sure you have these and your set for sometime.
