Before - use a heat protectant serum. Redken makes a really good one called Heat Glide. I also like Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum. You can get this at a Trade Secrets store in the mall. Sometimes you can get free samples at Trade Secrets. And get a coupon for a discount from their website.

You can find similar products for less money at the drugstore or beauty supply store. For example at Walgreens.com Fantasia High Potency IC Hair Polisher Heat Protector Straightening Serum is only $7.00 for a 6 ounce bottle. It's probably even less expensive at your local store. This stuff smells great and is not heavy on your hair.

Apply enough serum to achieve even coverage on towel dried hair.

Well I use a heat defense spray before i straighten or blow dry my hair and than a little hair wax to smooth it over when i'm done and my hair stay's straight all day without frizz.

hmmm...good question...whenever i straighten my hair i usually use this hair protector cream....i am not to sue what it is called though icause i just ran out of it..

wash hair before bed and use a smoother on damp hair.

try ganirer frutuis smoothing milk.

then straighten when you get up.

ask yourself these questions.

are you waiting at least ten minutes for it to heat up?

do you just have a crappy straightner?

do you accidently turn it off?

straighten hair.

[oh and by the way, turn ends outward with a striaghener to get them stick straight.]

then apply the smoothing milk again but dont overlaod.

one pump will do and rub it in your hands for a little bit.

then apply.

after, use hairspray 10-12 inches away from head.

but,look outside!!

I put a little bit of Aussie spray after I straighten it and then run my fingers through it. If your having trouble straightening it chances are your straightener sucks. You can to Walgreens or Wal-Mart and get the Turbo Straightener from Conair it works really great and you dont need to use anything with it.
