How do I straighten my hair right?

I have kind of long black hair. It's thick and coarse and whenever I straighten it, it looks clumpy and oily. Not like the movie stars. I have a sedu straightner so i dont know what the problem is. Did i set the heat too or too low? Should i not use so much hair product? please help! :(

This is my step:)

1. Wet your hair.

2. Shampoo with a good brand.

3. Rinse it with water

4. Use a conditioner.

5. Leave for about 2-3 minutes.

6. Rinse it again.

7. Dry it with towel.

8. Then blow dry.

9. Set your sedu straightener.

10. You straighten your hair part by bart (small portion at a time)

*try to be patient.. small portion at a time. you said that u have a long and thick hair.

Use a heat protectant before you straighten. I use the lowest setting and do small sections at a time.

It sounds like you have very pretty hair!!! First you'll want to apply a smoother, I'm a big fan of the Matrix smoothing system (in the orange bottles) The oil and the smoothing cream work excellent. Work it in all over WET hair, but avoid your roots. Then take a round bore bristle brush and blow dry in small sections. After dry, because you have thick hair, you are going to want to use a higher setting on your straightening iron. Finish with a shine spray or lite hair spray and you should be done! Also, if you avoid touching your roots, you should be able to get 2 days out of this hairstyle.

This is what I do, I section my hair and then out of that bit of section I split it into a smaller section and just straighten it.. but slow and smooth dont stop cause if you stop it will crease and leave that there and it will take foreverrrr to get out.. trust me ive done it lol. And if your going to use hair product then use only a little bit before you start to straighten your hair it may not seem like alot but dont put anymore than a dime sized drop of anything

and after you finish use ait more just to refreshin it up abit

before you straighten your hair you should wash your hair and MAKE SURE YOUR WHOLE HAIR IS DRIED NEVER IM TELLING YOU NEVER EVER STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR WHEN IT IS WET BECAUSE THEN IT WILL GET BURNT.When you straighten your hair make sure every bit of hair is on the machine going down.
