HOW can i straighten afro hair into straight hair?

You can blow dry it straight with either a round brush or a comb attachment (section your hair and dry it section by section) then use a flat iron to straighten it completely. You're going to have to get a good iron that gets really hot...low price but amazing is Remington Wet2Straight, or you can go expensive and get something like CHI or Babyliss or Paul Brown. Make sure you use pressing oil before you flat iron. Something like Paul Mitchell Super Skinny serum would help straighten it with a blowdryer.

If you go to a salon, just ask for a hard press. They'll just use a pressing comb or a good flat iron to straighten your hair temporarily.

I know you said that you don't want to relax but profectiv is a great relaxer and it is not harsh on the hair, other than that you may have to use frizz ease and flat iron daily

I have "afro hair", too.

The healthiest to straighten it is to press it. That involves an iron hot comb. You apply heat to the comb, comb your hair with it, and the heat helps straignten your hair. This option doesn't last very long if you take hot showers or if you live in a lot of humidity. You can buy a comb at the beauty supply store for about $20-35. But since your new to this, you might wanna get someone to do it for you who's done it before.

You can relax it MILDLY with what is called a "texturizer". This is a chemical that simply relaxes the curl making it so that when you blow dry it, it appears to be straighter. I do this in the summer months to avoid sweating it out. This is at the beauty supply store for about $7.

I've also used this conditioner called "Bone Straight" that actually makes my hair straighter whne blow drying it. This is at the beauty supply store for about $7

Try pressing it or using that Bone Straight before you go hard on it with those chemicals.

I was starting to give up hope of my hair every being properly straight without going to the salon.

But today, i decided to try something different.

I slightly warmed up some olive oil [put some in a mug, and put it in the microwave for a minute or so], and put quite a lot in my hair, then i left it on for about 1 hour and 30 minutes [covered with a shower cap], then shampooed and conditioned my hair as usual.

[Note: some people leave the olive oil in over night, some only leave it in for 20 mins, so choose the amount of time that would suit you]

I then blow-dried my hair [which i do just to make straightening easier], and saw no visible difference to my hair, but then when i straightened it.. wow.

Honestly, my hair hasn't been this straight or this healthy in a long time, the effects of olive oil are instant.

Well that's just my input, I'm half African, so my hair is somewhat similar to yours.

Oh, also, make sure you use heat protector on your hair, to lessen the damage the intense heat from the straighteners cause.

I realised that when my hair is in a bad way, no matter how good the straighteners are, it won't go completely straight, so make sure you protect your hair.

Good luck.

RQ.
