Can I straighten my hair when it's wet??

My hair is naturally very curly/FRIZZY.

I usually blow dry then straighten my hair. (Which takes FOREVER cuz my hair is thick/longish.)

I was wondering if it would ruin my hair if i straightened it when it was wet?? I have a chi straightner.

--And if I did this, would it still frizz?

Don't ever straight your hair while wet, even if it is an expensive brand and you have heat activated spray it will damage/burn/frizz your hair no matter what,

Don't even straighten it or blowdry it while wet, hair is very very vulnerable while wet, and if you heat style while wet, your hair will end up very burned, split ends and super dry. Don't do it :/

get a wet/dry straightener, they rele work. i used to and we have the same hair type... try it! it really works! :)

Isn't that a killer for a hair? I know that using a hot iron on hair when it's wet will damage it for sure.

Besides, even if it didn't damage it, it would go right back to drying curly, and I do think it would frizz.

Of course, I don't know a thing about these wet-dry straighteners. Don't they work by drying as they straighten? If that's true, then it's not really straightening it wet.

you have to get a straightener that is ok with wet hair. most are not. but i just got one that is ok with wet hair. i got it at wal-mart. it was like 28 dollars or something like that. but it works really good

Never flat iron your hair while its wet or even damp.

Hair must be 100% dry. Hair that's damp will be FRIZZY if you flat iron it.

And remember - always use thermal sprays. :-)

And yeah I know about the wet2straight flat irons - I have one, but you still should not flat iron it wet or damp. Really sit down and think about the logistics of a flat iron with a few "steam holes" in it...LOL it just does NOT work that way! It will still have frizz.

Get a wet-to-dry straightener..otherwise, your hair will be a giant frizzy mess.

You can straighten it if its a wet/dry straightener. For the frizzing use frizz control hair gel and/or spray. And aslo for the straightening you could use erbel essence dangerously straight shampoo.

go to your local drug store or something and get a straightener that is like wet to dry. i have that problem too.

Well you can if you have special straighteners like remmington wet 2 straight. They have special steam holes. Otherwise no because it could burn and frizz up your hair. Some of my friends do it anyway but you get split ends. If yours have steam hles then go for it!

Hmmmmm....i know with my straightner it would probably give me a shock. But i'm in the exact same situtaion as you. My hair is naturally curly and thick. So i blow dry it (takes like 15 minutes) Then i straighten it (About ten minutes) I would love to have a straighter that wouldnt shock me.

you cant with a chi but i went out and bought Remington wet2Straight straightener cause i have the same problem its not a chi but it works pretty good

i have a straightener that is good for wet/dry too (works better on wet tho) but i do it all the time it works better.
